Quote
Two heroes talk before a match. Identify both speakers.
You see two lines of dialogue from the moments before a match, and you have eight guesses to name both speakers. Naming one correctly locks that speaker in so you can focus your remaining guesses on the other.

Ability
A hidden ability icon, uncovered tile by tile as you miss.
The icon hides behind a grid of nine tiles. One is uncovered at the start, and every wrong guess uncovers another. You have eight attempts to guess the hero who owns it.

Spotlight
A cropped sliver of hero or skin art. It zooms out as you guess.
A small crop of a hero splash or skin that zooms out a step with each wrong guess. You have five attempts across a pool that covers base portraits and over a thousand hero skins.

Sound
An ability sound clip that grows longer with each miss.
You hear a fragment of one of the hero’s ability sounds, often under a second, that grows longer with each wrong guess. You have eight attempts.

What is OWdle?
OWdle is a free daily Overwatch guessing game, basically Wordle but for Overwatch heroes. There's a new hero to figure out every day, and everyone gets the same one that day so you can compare with friends.
How do you play OWdle?
You just type in an Overwatch hero and OWdle tells you how close you are. Every mode gives you a different kind of clue (attribute tiles, an ability icon, an ability sound, a bit of splash art) and you keep guessing till you land on the right hero.
What game modes does OWdle have?
There's five modes every day. Classic gives you eight attribute tiles to narrow things down, Ability shows an ability icon that slowly reveals itself, Quote drops you into a convo between two heroes and you name both, Sound plays a short ability sound, and Spotlight shows a cropped bit of splash art that zooms out every time you miss.
When does a new OWdle puzzle come out?
A new puzzle goes up every day at 2:15am Pacific. Each mode has its own hero for the day and it stays the same for everybody until the next reset.
